KZ5LAND​

My husband, Mike Paulson, had many passions, but his love of Canal Zone history was evident in every aspect of his life and our home. He began the Canal Zone Ham Operators Archives FB page in July of 2013 and spent countless hours gathering, collecting, and scanning documents to share this passion with others. After its creation in September 2017, I can truly say that this website became my husband’s legacy of love. He worked tirelessly during the last few weeks of his life to make sure KZ5LAND did not pass with him.  My daughters and I are extremely grateful and humbled that Bob Davies (K7BHM) has graciously agreed to maintain the website. Knowing that this website would be left in the hands of someone who found a passion in ham radio history, and would share this information with future generations, brought my husband peace during his final days.

 

Mike touched so many lives during his time with us; his memories will live on forever through us all!

Tallahassee - Larry Michael "Mike" Paulson, 57, of Tallahassee, passed away March 11, 2018, at Big Bend Hospice after a long battle with lung cancer.

Born in the Panama Canal Zone, he is the son of the late Leigh Cassius Paulson and Mary Jane Paulson. He took great pride in his heritage, developing a passion for Canal Zone history and his family's genealogy.

Mike was a wonderful man who blessed the lives of so many people. He was a dedicated son, loving husband, and proud father. His greatest joy in life was his family, especially his 3 strong, independent and thoughtful daughters.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Barber Paulson; 3 daughters, Sarah, Deanna, and Mary; the family dog, Lady; 3 sisters (Judy, Jane, Jill) and 2 brothers (Leo, Mark).
